Wellness Exams

An annual wellness exam is how we get to know you and your pet. A thorough physical exam for your pet and discussion with you is the key to detection and prevention of disease. This goes far beyond just vaccinations. Whether you have a puppy, kitten, or geriatric pet, individualized care is our thing. We’ll focus on enhancing your pets’ quality of life with personal attention and appropriate diagnostics. The goal is for your pet to have a comfortable, stress-free, and loving experience with us and then to go home to live their best life. We want you to feel heard, informed, and that we came up with the best game plan for your pet together.

Puppy/Kitten Care

An exam for your young ones is super important to make sure they are well and to get them off to a healthy start.  We will discuss vaccinations, microchipping, deworming, training, nutrition, disease prevention, and answer your questions.  Puppies and kittens are by far the worst part of our job, but we will make an effort to pretend they are adorable.

Senior Pet Care

Most of us here have had or do have our own grey-muzzled pets that have fueled our drive and continued education to help your pets stay active and happy long into their elder years.  There are so many new medical diagnostics and developments to keep your pet fulfilled, pain free, and disease free that we can’t wait to share with you.  

Diagnostic Exams

If you have specific health concerns or behavioral issues that come up for your pet, you should know that we like tests and we like to fix things.  You will get frank and accurate information and diagnostic options.  RWVC has high-resolution digital x-ray, a full in house lab, and uses a local reference lab and several university/speciality diagnostic centers.  We understand there is a range of treatment and diagnostic options that we will decide upon with you to give the best outcome for your pet. 

Technician appointments

Sometimes your pet just needs a nail trim, an anal gland expression, a vaccine booster, a tick removed, an ear cleaned, a demonstration of how to do something… The list goes on, and the techs here do it all while booping your pets’ noses and saying ridiculously cute things in even more ridiculous voices to them while giving them yummy permitted treats.

Surgery

Our hospital is equipped with a state of the art surgical suite for spaying, neutering, soft tissue surgery, and some orthopedic procedures.  During these procedures, your pet is supervised continuously by our doctor and staff who monitor all vital anesthetic parameters. 

Dental procedures

Dental disease is one of the main pathologies that affects your pets’ longevity and well-being.  We all wish we could brush our pets’ teeth every day, but the truth is most pets need help in this area or have some degree of undiagnosed dental disease or pain.  Our advanced dental equipment allows us to not only clean the teeth thoroughly, but we take full dental x-rays to perform necessary treatments and surgical extractions of compromised teeth.
